Produktion: LaTeX conversion, 11 October 2026 Files wg-2-produktion.tex Editable lecture content and TikZ/PGFPlots diagrams title.tex WiGr Beamer/Metropolis template adapted from wg-s26 ../graphics/tub.pdf Shared TU logo ../graphics/rifkin-null-grenzkosten.jpeg Shared book cover wg-2-produktion.pdf Compiled presentation Build from wg-w26, using the existing TeX installation: pdflatex wg-2-produktion.tex pdflatex wg-2-produktion.tex The template uses ../graphics for all external images, including the book cover now in the shared collection. No EE-26 source files are needed to compile. It uses the same 16:9 Metropolis layout, red accents and grey headings as the first WiGr LaTeX lecture. German hyphenation and Latin Modern fonts are enabled for pdflatex. Metropolis may recommend XeLaTeX/LuaLaTeX for its optional Fira fonts; these are not required for this PDF. Coverage All 48 original slides are represented, in their original order. The title replaces PPT slide 1; an additional contents page produces 49 PDF pages. Original slide 2 is PDF page 3, and so on. Numbered slide footers on content pages correspond to the original PPT numbers. Source comments identify each original slide. PowerPoint animations have been converted to static states; the separate stages of the cost-curve explanation remain separate frames. There were no substantive speaker notes in the source. Sources The winter PPTX is the content authority. It is byte-identical to the summer Produktion PPTX, allowing its existing PDF to be used as a visual reference. The production, monopoly and Cournot sections of ../ee-26/ee-3-microeconomic_basics.tex informed the reconstruction. All equations, tables and economic diagrams are native LaTeX/TikZ/PGFPlots. Only the logo and book cover remain external image assets. Changes requiring editorial awareness 1. The semester label is now WiSe 2026/27, although the source PPTX title still says Sommersemester 2026. The shared title now lists Prof. Tom Brown and Dr. Fabian Neumann, as confirmed for the winter course. 2. Slide 18 now draws revenue from the origin and tangent to variable costs. The source drew a line through the fixed-cost intercept and labelled it as revenue. Slide 23 similarly uses a consistent total-cost tangency. 3. The schematic cost curves on slides 14--30 are reconstructed with K(Q)=Q^3/3-3Q^2+10Q+15. This matches the shapes of the source drawings. This is deliberately distinct from the unchanged exercise 4.2 function K(Q)=Q^3/3-2Q^2+5Q+15 on slides 33--35. Numeric coefficients for the schematic model are implementation choices, not quoted source data. 4. At the production threshold, production and shutdown are explicitly described as equivalent when the contribution margin is zero. 5. The profit rule includes the increasing-marginal-cost and shutdown checks. Exercise 4.2b includes the resulting profit comparison. 6. Producer surplus is distinguished from profit by subtracting fixed costs (slide 42). Welfare diagrams use consistent intersections and explicitly shade the monopoly welfare loss. The rising marginal-cost curve in these diagrams is now convex, as in the original, with intersections and shaded areas following the curve. Demand and marginal revenue remain linear in this explicitly linear example. 7. The market-form matrix names the cells grouped as oligopolistic forms in the original. Unit elasticity is separated from strictly elastic demand. 8. The final Cournot table separates output per firm from total output. 9. The digital-products discussion retains the original examples but says low variable costs rather than implying that provision is free. 10. Text is lightly edited for German grammar, readability and mathematical precision. The main teaching sequence and original exercise numbers, assumptions and numerical examples are retained. Shared template repair, 11 October 2026 The copied WG1 title template lacked packages and settings required by WG2. Restored PGFPlots, array/tabularx, German hyphenation, T1/Latin Modern fonts, and suppression of automatic section pages. Both decks use the same title, author/semester fields and contents layout. The licensing text brought over by the user with title.tex is retained. Existing image attribution remains. Shortened the slide 21 heading to avoid the TU logo. Beamer's normal list handling is preserved so description labels and overlay syntax work. Validation Rendered all 49 pages and compared their coverage with all 48 source slides. Checked equations and example arithmetic, cost-curve minima and tangencies, monopoly intersections, and Cournot individual/aggregate quantities. The installed pdflatex compiler produced the PDF. The Codex editor was opened for the source, but its separate preview compiler could not download its TeX bundle. Use the supplied PDF or the local build commands above. Revision following WG1 fidelity review WG2 retains the previously accepted conversion. This revision restores the curved marginal-cost boundary in the monopoly/welfare diagrams (slides 41 and 43). The earlier departures from the source are documented above so they remain visible for review.
